Imagine a situation where someone phones an elderly relative and it appears to be a favourite grandchild on the call, begging for money to help out in an emergency. It sounds exactly like the child and the problem really sounds urgent; what should they do? The FBI suggests they might want to say something like “What does the donkey say to the aardvark?” Despite rapid advances, the accuracy of generative AI in making images and videos is still far off the mark at times, but voice reproduction is already remarkably good. With the use of vocal cloning on the rise,…

Okay, listen, in my Infinity Nikki review I said that styling battles—where you take the clothes you’ve accumulated and use their attached scores and tags to duke it out with an NPC—sort of took a backseat in this game, especially compared to previous non-adventure entries in the series. That’s still mostly true, until I realised that I wanted to craft the Wishful Aurosa outfit. Turns out, I gotta do a lot of stylist battles across various in-game factions in order to obtain every piece. After initially brushing them off as a tedious grind, I’ve come to absolutely adore them. They’re…

Dbrand surprised us with a Cyber Monday deal on its excellent Project Killswitch case, then it just kept the deal running through December. You can still save on one of its Project Killswitch Essentials Kits, which are discounted to just $49.95 (was $67.90). The Killswitch case is a semi-flexible cover that fits snugly over your handheld PC, giving it a modest amount of protection from impacts, with handles that have a delightfully grippy texture. It’s a must-own accessory that we recommend for any Steam Deck or ROG Ally owner who wants some extra protection for their device. Each Essentials Kit…

Lego Fortnite is expanding in a big way this week. Not only are we getting a new Lego Pass with piles of new content for the existing Lego Fortnite survival/crafting game, but we’re getting an entirely new Lego game, dubbed Brick Life. Lego Fortnite Brick Life, which launches on December 12, is an open-world social sim in which you and 31 of your closest friends can hang out in Brick Bay, a lively Lego City that’s full of activities, jobs, and empty lots you can build on, and Brick Bay will be expanding all the time. For example, December 18…

Hold on to your potatoes, because developer MachineGames has released the first patch for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. The update adds path tracing for select Nvidia cards, improved whip behavior, and a host of gameplay fixes, as detailed in the full patch notes below. On Bethesda’s website, MachineGames provided a laundry list of improvements for the action-adventure game, headlined by path tracing for PC players. Think of this feature–which is also in the works for AMD cards, according to the developer–as a souped-up version of ray tracing. That means, for example, offering even more realistic lighting sources and…

Winning matches and grinding competitive ranks might be the main goal of Marvel Rivals, but the true draw is playing dress-up with your favourite comic book superheroes. While you can earn some cosmetics by completing in-game challenges, events, or via the battle pass, many of the most sought-after skins require units. Units are one of the three main currencies in Marvel Rivals and arguably the hardest to get your hands on—if you’re not pulling out your wallet, at least. While our Marvel Rivals tier list will have you playing your best, earning units to put towards new cosmetics will have…

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle seems to’ve been whipped into good shape by Bethesda, a much-needed win for the studio—capturing for fans (including our own Ted Litchfield, who gave it an 86 in his review) the pure distilled essence of the action adventure classic, like a modern Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay for the beloved franchise. Part of that’s due to the dulcet tones of Troy Baker, who played the leading man. While poor ol’ Baker gets thrown in the Nolan North bag of instantly recognisable voice actors who get cast in everything, I think it’s easy…

Path of Exile 2 developer Grinding Gear Games has already identified a number of skills it plans to nerf following the action RPG’s explosive Early Access launch. Just a day after Path of Exile 2 launched to huge concurrent player numbers on Steam, GGG tweeted to say it had “finally hit that point where a skill with unacceptable balance has been discovered.” The skill in question is Supercharged Slam, which GGG said is dealing “far too much damage than was intended given the short channel window required to hit maximum stages.” The developer reduced its damage via a hotfix soon…
